The health care industry is developing rapidly, accompanied by a significant increase in medical waste. Medical waste is generated in healthcare facilities such as hospitals, dental clinics and local doctors’ offices. It can be in solid or liquid form. According to the World Health Organization (WHO) statistics, There are about 0.5 kg per bed every day, And 0.5kg to 2.5kg of medical waste can be produced per bed every day in developing countries Medical waste generated annually from the US has a total of approximately 2.6 million tons, while India’s daily medical waste reached 500 tons. The amount of medical waste has increased significantly, further exacerbated the pressure of treatment of medical waste.

This article introduces that autoclave process is an ideal process for medical waste treatment. Use this medical waste autoclave to ensure that attack in your medical waste are destroyed before the waste can be disposed of. Autoclave in a closed chamber applies heat, pressure and steam to dispose of infectious material before it ends up in an permitted landfill or incinerator.

Our team will explore your sterilization needs and help you determine the right configuration for the right model for your task, facility and requirements. The autoclave will then be manufactured by hand in our factory from start to finish.

We have a wide portfolio of different standard cavity sizes from 25 to 5000 litres, which provide the right and standardized solutions for every application area. In addition, these can be adjusted individually to suit your needs.

In this product category, autoclaves may choose to use an external steam generator, to produce wet steam from a boiler or to produce steam from electricity, depending on the specific machine and application.

We also offer additional customization options including dedicated loading carts, additional shelves and pre-programmed sterilization cycles so that your lab autoclave is built to your exact needs.

Why is it important to dispose of clinical waste?

Effective medical waste disposal is vital for humans, animals, plants and the environment. The hazards of medical waste seriously affect medical staff and waste handlers.

Another victim of medical waste is innocent animals. Animals ingest these wastes, which leads to poor health and weakness. Soil and manure are contaminated with waste.

It is important to manage waste in an effective way.

1. Health point of view – Blood stains, used diapers, blood-soaked bandages and other waste can harbor bacteria. This is neither hygienic nor healthy for visitors to the hospital.

2. Environmental pollution – If the waste comes into contact with the outside atmosphere, the risk of air, water and soil pollution becomes relentless.

3. Risk of infection – Infection can spread from sharp objects (e.g. knives, blades) and other sharp objects (e.g. used needles, scalpels, etc.)

What Types of Medical Waste Can Be Autoclaved?

Most controlled medical waste can be treated by autoclave. Common items in a doctor’s office or hospital may eventually be sterilized in a autoclave, including, but not limited to:

1. Gloves, gauze, robes or other items worn by the patient or physician (personal protective equipment or PPE)

2. Used bandages, gauze and other bedding, suction cups or other items that may be contaminated with blood or body fluids

3. Used or contaminated sharp objects (needles, syringes, scalpels, medical knives — anything that can Pierce or Pierce the skin)

Which items should not be disposal in autoclaves?

However, some materials are not suitable for autoclaving and it is recommended that these be separated and treated with alternative treatment techniques such as incineration.

These materials include but are not limited to:

1. Pathological waste

2. Chemotherapy waste

3. Radioactive waste

What Happens to Waste After Autoclaving?

After using the medical waste disposal of the steam autoclave, The waste is rendered and sent to a landfill. Since The Waste has rendered non-infectious, it is safe to dispose of alongside other regular trash.

For more details on our different model specifications, here are the autoclaves you can choose to purchase:

You can buy many different steam autoclaves on the market, which can make it difficult for novices to decide what kind of machine they need. These machines can be classified for many different functions, but one of the most definitive aspects you should definitely consider before buying is the size and volume of a medical waste sterilizer.

You need to ask yourself the following questions:

How much medical waste do we need to dispose of every day?

How much space is available in the post-processing room for the autoclave?

-According to the daily waste sterilization ability, we can design the appropriate sterilizer. If you are unsure which capacity of medical waste autoclave is suitable for your facility, we can evaluate equipment requirements to meet your needs;

-In some cases, depending on the available space at your disposal, buying two smaller autoclaves may be more beneficial than one larger machine.

WZQ is a high quality small autoclave offering reliable, durable performance with a circular chamber that makes this autoclave especially suitable for medical facilities that don’t have much space available, use small loads and need sterilization solution systems that are easy to incorporate into medical management.

This autoclave has a unique pulsating vacuum drying program, and the option of pulsating vacuum is its focus. Vacuum degassing is the most efficient and popular option with many advantages, including shorter cycle times, and a post-sterilized vacuum sequence that can enhance load drying (or complete drying combined with vacuum and steam jacket).

Pre-programmed to meet basic sterilization requirements. There are a number of optional sterilization processes: fabric, instrument, liquid, BD, pressure holding test, custom multiple procedures. The temperature can be 105°C or 138°C, and the sterilization time is fully adjustable. Depending on the load inside this small autoclave container, the steam sterilization cycle can be completed in 21 minutes, allowing you to perform medical procedures more efficiently.

For smaller clinics, the choice may be clear because they have limited available space and don’t have to deal with so many tools every day. Of course, if you work in a large hospital rather than a small clinic and need to handle a lot of medical equipment each day, it may be more cost-effective in the long run to purchase a large autoclave (perhaps a medium autoclave for backup or use in your operating room).

It is ideal for large facilities such as hospitals, which produce more waste each day and must use a variety of medical tools and equipment to treat patients.Larger models can be equipped with indoor or external steam generators.

Autoclaves with traditional cylindrical containers are the best choice for quality assurance facilities. Each year, cylindrical autoclave vessels are expected to use one-sixth to one-tenth as much water and energy as a comparable rectangular model.Cylindrical chambers are better suited to high-pressure microenvironments, require less reinforcement and insulation, and wear less over the life of the autoclave. By eliminating corners, cylindrical containers improve steam circulation, prevent cold bags and ensure complete sterilization without excessive cycle time or long-term failed loads. Fewer parts, more efficient steam generation, lean cylindrical pressure vessels, and application-specific construction not only reduce the purchase price: it also leads to more reliable autoclaves, while the cost of owning, operating, and maintaining them is greatly reduced.

Disinfection times vary depending on the equipment involved and the needs of the particular project. For medical waste, the entire sterilization process takes approximately 1 hour from start to finish, of which approximately 15 minutes are dedicated to setup and removal, while the actual sterilization takes 45 minutes. Clean and environmentally safe technology that is easy to install on site and eliminates the need to transport waste to external treatment facilities, reducing the cost of handling and managing potentially infectious waste.

Capacities range from 1200L to 5000 litres.

Optional

The sterilization room

The cabin is usually made of stainless steel and can be rectangular or round in shape.

A circular chamber is also known as the most common cylindrical chamber. These circular chambers are also available in two types – top-loaded and front-loaded autoclaves.

The circular capsule is very economical to produce, as reflected in its overall cost, but with this design, the space around the inner chamber is wasted.

Rectangular cabin on the contrary, can maximize the use of the space of the chamber, four corners arc transition, mold pressing molding, the cost is higher than the circular cabinet.

When considering autoclave, always consider configuration and its effect on volume/flux, as well as overall space and efficiency.

Closed system of autoclave

Be careful when purchasing autoclave size. Operating autoclaves under pressure is very dangerous and requires extreme care. The model requires a safety interlock to prevent the door from opening during periods of high pressure and heat. The model should be designed in such a way as to prevent the door from opening until the load reaches a safe temperature. The way autoclave doors open and close varies depending on the manufacturer’s model, as each autoclave is manufactured using a series of different closed systems.

Optional types of protective doors are:

1. Manual door with single action closing

These doors are faster and easier to operate than manually bolted doors. They are not as complicated as electric door closing. It requires less maintenance and is cheaper. These doors cannot be opened and closed more easily than button operation. The autoclave needs enough space on the front and side so that the door can swing when opened.

2. Hinged door or flat door

3. Manual door with manual bolt

These doors are less complicated and therefore relatively cheap to repair. These doors are not very easy to open and close compared to single-action closing. The hinge side of the door and autoclave needs sufficient space to allow the door to swing when opened.

4. Horizontal or vertical electric sliding door

If a higher volume chamber is handling heavier items, the use of an electric door autoclave where there is insufficient space to open hinged doors. The advantage of this is that the cavity door is lowered in the machine body. These machines are user-friendly and feature simple quick button functions that require minimal physical exertion. But these machines are more complex and expensive because of the various controls and mechanisms needed to move the door into the right position and seal it. Autoclaves with a fixed seal design are the right choice because the door physically moves onto the seal to minimize wear.

Regular maintenance of these systems is mandatory.

Steam generation method

There are three optional main processes to produce steam — one is direct steam, the other is electric steam, oil steam.

1. Built-in electric heating steam generator

In this method, a separate steam generator is installed under a chamber connected to the main autoclave vessel. As with indoor systems, the steam generated is controlled by an autoclave temperature controller. These generators are expensive, but provide cleaner workspaces and dry loads at the end of the cycle. It can speed up cycle time if needed. In addition, it achieves faster cooling than indoor electrical models.

2. Steam heated from an external source

The autoclave requires high quality steam to operate and the existing connection to the available steam source should be perfect; However, some internal supplies may not be reliable. To meet this requirement, the manufacturer provides a “back-up” electric heater for the autoclave when the steam supply is not available.

-Primary uses of obtaining steam from an internal steam chamber include faster heating of the chamber compared to the electric heating model, as the steam inside the autoclave is at a high temperature.

The following are two alternative external steam boilers:

1. Steam with external electric heating

Electric heating as a heat source, not only health, and no environmental pollution, low operating cost. No bacteria breeding, electromagnetic boiler heating convection mode, medium for water, reduce the flow of dust in the air, reduce the spread of harmful bacteria in the air. High precision, can be perfectly matched with the user’s heating needs.

2. Steam heated by external fuel oil

Fuel burning speed, fuel gas steam generator from ignition to steam only 2-3 minutes, combustion fully does not exist in the furnace coking phenomenon, and fuel gas steam generator use site is not limited, outdoor also suitable for use. High efficiency, environmental protection, energy saving is the main advantages of fuel and gas steam generator, combustion without other impurities, will not affect the equipment itself and related accessories, fuel and gas steam generator has a long service life.

We offer a wide range of high quality steam sterilizer machines to eliminate organisms such as bacteria, fungi, viruses and spores. Our autoclaves are designed to provide reliable performance for challenging biotechnology, pharmaceutical, research and laboratory applications.
